Building and working on a startup with 2 small kids has been one of the toughest things to do. Week in and week out kids will always demand your time no matter what you are doing. Let me tell you how my Saturday went. I woke up about 6 AM to start more research on some articles I wanted to write about and as I’m trying to tip toe around the house my little 1 year old sniffs me out and from that point it was over. He’s now curious of this shiny electronic sitting on my lap so now I have to try and sway him away, but he keeps coming back.
My daughter who just turned 6 last weekend is now up playing with all her new toys from her party. As she’s playing dress up I have now became her personal paparazzi so now i must capture pictures and videos of here prancing around the house. It starts to get mid day and her friends come over and they want to ride bikes outside so we gather up the bikes and take a stroll in the nice weather. Being a known IT guy I then get called for assistance at a friends house around 5pm to assist a troubling computer.
After getting back to the house around 10pm there was a play kitchen from the daughters grandpa that took about 2 hours to put together. Talk about a whole days shift, every day is a new situation when dealing with kids and trying to run a startup. That’s why I’m typing this article at 1:30AM in the morning on April 26, 2020. If you find yourself in a similar situation just know that there’s never and excuse to not find time to get what you want to achieve done. Make time for your startup, for your family, and for your self and watch your business grow.
Now off to more work!
